The RLA is Everywhere. Recently, the RLA has delivered the message of the importance of reverse logistics to audiences in Nashville, at Consumer Returns, in Europe at RLA Amsterdam, in Las Vegas at the ASD Show, in San Antonio at the APICS Conference, in Austin at the Dell Service Partners Forum, and in New Orleans at the E-Reuse Conference. A lot of miles were covered, and a lot of industry colleagues have heard about the E-Commerce Hangover: Returns and Reverse Logistics.

When delivering the RLA message, whether as a presentation, a keynote, a moderator, or a panelist, our message to audiences is extensive and covers the basics and the newest ideas about reverse logistics. The basics are about making products better and easier to use to reduce returns by the customer. The size of the returns industry is not clear but is enormous with estimates from $200-$400 billion in the USA alone. There are many steps retailers and manufacturers can take to prevent returns, especially improper or fraudulent ones, and the RLA helps to promote the best industry practices through our RLA.org website, the RLA SmartBrief newsletter, RL Magazine, and the RLA Conferences (February 6-8 again at Westgate in Las Vegas).

The 3rd Party Solutions Providers are the core of the RLA. These companies are creative in finding new ways to process, refurbish, recover, recycle, and remarket returned products. The 3PSPís include consultants, software developers, and the processor companies who all have developed ways to recover the highest value for returned goods, and they work to innovate new methods. The 3PSP companies make heroes of those in the hot seat of returns management at retail and manufacturing companies. Reverse logistics is an afterthought at many companies, and the area of greatest opportunity to make a difference. The RLA will help you be that hero at your company.
